The Knife and Tomahawk: Part One

To throw a knife or tomahawk, you must own one. For the beginner, these two are a good buy.

The Blazing Arrow II

This knife, sold by Mantle Ministries, is a quality throwing knife. I've thrown it quite a bit, and it hasn't broken yet. It comes with a handsome black nylon sheath, and costs just $14.

Frontier Tomahawk

A good thrower for the older beginner, as this tomahawk is a bit heavy. Vision Forum offers a special package of one tomahawk, two of their throwing knives, and an instructional DVD. The tomahawk and the DVD are fine products, but the knives, while they still work, have a tendency to bend out of shape. It is important to note that throwing knives are made of spring steel, a metal which bends slightly on impact instead of breaking. The bending of these knives is not slight, it is quite noticeable. As I stated before, the knives still work, but if you get the package, just be ready to have bent knives. The tomahawk by itself is a good buy, costing only $15.

Introduction

This Blog is for the adventurer in every boy (I say this because, yes, this blog is going to be mostly directed toward boys, but hopefully girls will be able to find something useful on here too). My field guide will tell boys how to do things which are which are better for him than playing video games or watching TV, and are much more satisfying.

My first how-to post is going to be on beginning knife & tomahawk throwing. I will provide some links on here for you to browse adventure equipment such as knives & tomahawks. Vote in polls and comment!
